Oracle Corp. this week continued its acquisition binge with an agreement to buy Golden Gate Software for an undisclosed sum.

Golden Gate specializes in data integration across organizations, including moving high volumes of transactional data quickly among disparate databases, a must as business users access a hodgepodge of applications in the course of conducting various processes.

In addition to its integration capabilities, Golden Gate’s flagship Transactional Data Management offering allows businesses to effect complex mappings and data transformations, capture data changes, and perform data warehousing.

In Oracle’s estimation, the acquired software will give customers the benefit of “enhanced real-time data movement, replication, and synchronization across heterogeneous systems, enabling improved business intelligence, while providing high availability of business-critical applications.”
