Chris Rehl, director of marketing at product testing company Cimtek and the article's author, urges manufacturers to embrace the philosophy of "trust, but verify," when dealing with contract manufacturers in the Middle Kingdom.
Rehl claims that even in light of recent quality debacles, which have included deadly pet food and blood medication as well as lead-tainted toys, "China is simply too good to pass up" as a destination for low-cost manufacturing services.
