Apriso, a purveyor of manufacturing operations management software, and its integration partner NSSOL have implemented the Apriso FlexNet solution at Isuzu factories in Japan.

Isuzu’s truck and heavy equipment group selected FlexNet to aid in the management of its knock-down (KD) kit, or parts used for assembly. The software is being used to track parts from multiple suppliers, providing visibility throughout the supply chain, an Apriso spokesman told Managing Automation.

NSSOL implemented the solution at the Isuzu facilities in just under four months. Now, with the fully operational FlexNet system, users can check the distribution status of KD parts from a single terminal. The software analyzes differences between planned and actual results. By getting the information in near-real time, users can see delivery delays immediately and take action to remedy a situation.

“We can improve the accuracy of vessel stow plans with detailed distribution information on when and where KD parts are arriving,” said Yasuyoshi Nishigaki, of Isuzu’s System and Business Restructure Promotion Department, in a statement. “We can also develop more effective plans to bring standardization and efficiency to our business processes by analyzing the differences between planned and actual results.”
