Enterprise applications vendor Infor this week added another acquisition to its long list of M&A activity, announcing that it had acquired a company called Bridgelogix, whose barcode data collection technology will help fill out Infor’s various ERP offerings.

In recent years, Bridgelogix has extended its core barcode functionality to encompass a broader range of automation in the warehouse and on the manufacturing floor, including light warehouse management, time and attendance activities, and lean manufacturing processes such as e-kanban.

For Kevin Prouty, Infor’s director of discrete manufacturing solutions, the most intriguing aspect of the acquisition is Bridgelogix’s time and attendance capabilities.

“I think what you’ll start to see is time and attendance take a more prominent role” in Infor products, Prouty said in an interview with Managing Automation. “We’ve been very focused on the barcode [technology] through the partnership, but I think some of the other modules they have around lean manufacturing and time and attendance, you’ll start to see those pop up as [Infor] modules very soon.”
