AT&T and Verizon Wireless are the market leaders among U.S. enterprise wireless carriers, possessing more complete visions and better ability to execute on their strategies than competitors, according to a report released this week by Gartner Inc.
Gartner, in its reported entitled “Magic Quadrant for U.S. Wireless Service Providers,” predicts that the quality of wireless services and customer support will increasingly influence enterprise decisions about which wireless and wireline providers to select.
“Although wireline is still driving the lead in choosing a provider, the importance of mobility is growing, affecting the decision more than ever,” the report says.
Driving the growing importance of wireless, says the report, is increasing spending by enterprises on wireless services. While the per-minute costs of wireless services are falling, “minutes of use are increasing by as much as 30% per year, and new services are being added,” says the report.
