Next month, GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, will release a new version of its HMI/SCADA software. iFIX 5.0 includes a new user interface, enhanced failover capabilities, charting and historian integration, and more than 500 pre-built graphic objects.
Leveraging Microsoft's Fluent User Interface technology, the new UI follows the ribbon bar concept, which lets users easily access tools during application development as well as configure quick access toolbars.
An enhanced failover feature enables users to synchronize real-time data, including every aspect of the tag database and alarms, across the entire network. The product is said to be easy to configure and to allow prioritization of networks for data synchronization and separation of real-time SCADA networks from the data synchronization network to boost performance.
A new charting tool expands the software's capability to display X-Bar, R-Bar, S-Bar, Histogram and Logarithmic charts, in addition to the more traditional real-time and historical charts. Ideal for GE Fanuc's Proficy Historian product, this new tool implements an advanced algorithm to fetch and plot data efficiently, boosting the overall system performance, the company said.
