A quarter-century-old gift and souvenir manufacturer looking to break into the world of big-box retailing has selected Epicor 9 Distribution to help facilitate that transition.
LaserGifts specializes in manufacturing laser-engraved pens, keychains, picture frames, and other personalized items, and distributes its products to souvenir shops and attractions nationwide. Intent on bringing its products to the larger retail market, where the logistics of order management and delivery can be more complex, the company tapped the Distribution module within the Epicor 9 system to manage its supply chain and warehousing activities.
The software will allow LaserGifts to “handle more sophisticated order placements and more complex customer transactions,” said CFO Jeffrey Bray, in a statement. “The ability to forecast demand and improve control over our warehouse inventory gives us a huge competitive advantage and provides us with greater capacity to meet the needs of big-box stores."
Epicor noted in the same statement that the Distribution software will also give the company the ability to manage its inventory in real time as it travels through the enterprise.
