The reason for the expected increase in spending: Many organizations believe that ERP plays a key role in standardizing and streamlining business processes and in reducing operating costs.
Fifty-nine percent of companies surveyed by Aberdeen said they plan to increase their ERP budgets in 2008. Thirty-three percent said they plan no change in their ERP budgets, while 8% said ERP spending would decline in 2008.
Among those planning to increase ERP budgets, spending will rise by 12.9%. For all survey respondents, the average planned increase was 6.8%.
