Danish food company Chr. Hansen has selected Wonderware software to manage the operations at its worldwide facilities.
The producer of ingredients for the food, pharmaceuticals, nutritional, and agriculture industries, will deploy Wonderware’s enterprise manufacturing intelligence (EMI) and manufacturing execution system software to standardize on scalable, configurable technology. Chr. Hansen plans to install the products at its facilities in Denmark, France, Germany, and the United States, starting in September at its Avedøre, Denmark plant.
By using Wonderware’s ArchestrA architecture, the Danish company will propagate its application across its manufacturing sites, Wonderware said in a prepared statement. The EMI software provides the ability to analyze operational performance using data analysis and reporting tools, while the MES applications are designed for consistent execution of operational activities, from product track and trace through enterprise integration, Wonderware said.
In the statement, Erik Borgensgaard, program manager at Chr. Hansen said, “Having the flexibility and adaptability to address new market requirements is something of great importance to Chr. Hansen. We expect that over time Wonderware technology will provide the best return on investment for Chr. Hansen. The biggest advantage will be that both SCADA/HMI and MES/EMI can be implemented using one common tool and system.”
