Business performance management consultancy BPM Partners has identified its list of "core" vendors in the BPM space for 2008, based on its analysis of vendors, field data, and data from its private survey. The list comprises vendors that meet certain criteria, including those that offer basic BPM functionality, maintain a group of satisfied customers, and appeal to a wide range of prospects.
New to the 2008 list and joining Clarity Systems, IBM/Cognos, Infor, Longview Solutions, and SAS are:
- Adaptive Planning, which offers a budgeting, forecasting, and reporting product aimed at small- and mid-market companies or divisions of larger corporations, available in both on-demand/hosted and traditional on-premise versions;
- Microsoft, which recently released its PerformancePoint Server 2007, a single, integrated performance management application that includes comprehensive BPM functionality;
- Oracle, which, BPM Partners says, gained leading performance management and business intelligence provider status following its acquisition of Hyperion; and
- SAP, which boosted its performance management applications and tools with the acquisitions of Pilot Software, OutlookSoft, and Business Objects, in addition to its OEM agreement with Acorn Systems.
