On-demand PLM software provider Arena Solutions has announced plans for tighter integration between its Arena PLM product and SolidWorks' PDMWorks Enterprise product data management (PDM) software. Specifically, the enhanced integration will improve the transfer of mechanical design data managed in PDMWorks Enterprise software to Arena PLM, the company said. The new Arena PLM-PDMWorks Enterprise integration will control and automate the flow of mechanical computer-aided design (CAD) files and specifications to Arena PLM, where mechanical designs are combined with product information from other disciplines, such as electronics subsystems, sourcing, and manufacturing, to create a complete definition of the product, Arena said.
