Recognizing the growing presence of wirelessly enabled Apple iOS-based products on the factory floor, Apriso has rolled out a version of its manufacturing execution system that users can access through Apple iPad and iPhone devices.
The new tablet and phone application taps into the complete suite of FlexNet MES applications, including production, warehouse, and quality management, as well as maintenance and time and labor, the company said.
The FlexNet app, which according to Apriso is available as a free download from the Apple App Store, enables users to have around-the-clock remote monitoring of the MES application, including exception handling and alert responses.
For years, wireless versions of FlexNet have been available on mobile devices running Windows OS, but the Apple iOS devices have larger screens and, the company said, more flexibility when executing business processes.
