Salesforce.com today said independent software vendors have integrated cloud-based order management, supplier relationship management, and remote service management applications with its newly announced Chatter social networking service.

ERP vendor Glovia International, service management provider ServiceMax, and SupplierSoft, a provider of supplier relationship management software, all said they have launched applications that integrate with Chatter, which was officially rolled out at Salesforce.com’s Cloudforce conference today.

Envisioned as a Facebook-like social networking service for businesses, Chatter lets users post profiles, create collaboration groups, share content, and stream information from different sources, such as enterprise applications. Chatter also integrates with Salesforce.com’s sales force automation service and is available on a stand-alone basis. Chatter is free to users of Salesforce and partner applications. Stand-alone users pay $15 each per month for Chatter.

Glovia said it has integrated the order management portion of its ERP suite with Chatter. The integration would, for example, let groups receive and collaborate on real-time order status feeds from Glovia’s order management system. The cloud-based system, the company said, is now available on Salesforce.com’s ChatterExchange, a category within the company’s AppExchange 2 online application marketplace.
