3D CAD Software is certified for Windows Vista OS.
Dec 6 2006- Designed to promote efficiency and visual interaction, SolidWorks Edition for Windows Vista offers Instant Search feature that leverages knowledge of how 3D CAD users work to optimize query responses. User can also experience capabilities of Windows Vista through applications in 2007 Office system, which is integrated with SolidWorks. Software provides Hi-Res images as previews in common dialogs and search results and lets users utilize RSS feed capabilities for content delivery.

Software generates interactive renderings of 2D/3D models.
Sep 29 2006- SolidWorks® eDrawings® Professional lets users generate accurate representations of 2D and 3D product designs that anyone can view, mark up, and measure. Email-based collaboration tool includes ability to drag and drop models directly into Microsoft® Office files while preserving full interactivity. Along with publishing/viewing support for AutoCAD® 2007 drawings, 3D files, and layers, software lets users interact with files created in Google SketchUp® software.

Software Module facilitates high speed machining.
Sep 5 2006- Expanding 3D milling functionality, SolidCAM2007 R11 includes high-speed machining module for molds, tools, dies, and complex 3D parts. Module offers machining and linking strategies for generating optimum roughing and finishing CNC high-speed tool paths. Program smoothes paths of both cutting moves and retracts wherever possible to keep continuous machine tool motion. All machining passes operations support point reduction and arc fitting for gouge-free tool path.

CAD Software includes expert-level intelligence.
Jun 22 2006- SolidWorks® 2007 includes SWIFT SolidWorks Intelligent Feature Technology, which simplifies use of software. SWIFT SketchXpert resolves dimensional and relational conflicts when sketching, while SWIFT MateXpert removes conflicts that arise when users add or modify mated parts. Design Checker includes features to ensure drawings meet defined standards of each user's organization, such as auto-correction and ability to learn from finished drawing.

Analysis Software helps find and correct design problems.
Jun 22 2006- COSMOS® 2007 provides feedback on design's performance by incorporating features such as virtual sensors, which provide information about specific locations on 3D model, and cyclic symmetry functionality, which analyzes circular designs like brake drums or turbine blades. Program also simulates commonly used design elements in one-step process. Adaptive analysis enables designers to analyze assemblies as they will work together in finished product.

CAD Software targets middle school to grad school students.
Jun 22 2006- SolidWorks® Education Edition 2006-2007 provides self-paced instruction covering everything from making simple parts to validating designs using finite element analysis methods. Program includes DVD with detailed curricula for 2 student projects as well as videos, tutorials, sketches, editable PowerPoint presentations, hands-on test drive, and student and instructor guides for integrated COSMOMotion(TM) analysis software.

CAD Software is offered in 64-bit version.
Feb 6 2006- SolidWorks® 2006 x64 Edition and COSMOS® 2006 x64 Edition leverage Microsoft Windows® XP Professional x64 Edition OS, providing 8 TB memory to support design of heavy equipment, packing plant machinery, and other large devices. Users can display, modify, and analyze assemblies of any size, with any number of components, without having to break them up. Both products support Intel Xeon® EM64T and AMD Opteron® processors.

Design-Sharing Software supports Apple Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger.
Jun 24 2005- eDrawings(TM) 3D allows users to review and comment on 3D models via e-mail. It operates on CAD software platforms, including SolidWorks®, AutoCAD®, CATIA®, Autodesk Inventor®, Pro/ENGINEER®, Solid Edge®, and Unigraphics®/ NX. Mac users can also read native DWG and DXF(TM) files using the software. It bridges communication gap between product design teams and graphic teams who are using a Mac to create conceptual designs, marketing materials, product instructions, and other collateral.

Software facilitates transition from 2D to 3D design.
Jun 24 2005- SolidWorks® 2006 enables users to work in drawings without waiting for drawing views or system graphics to be recalculated. Engineers working in 2D environment can visualize parts and assemblies in 3 dimensions. Display States feature allows models to have shaded and wire frame components displayed together in same assembly. Based on engineering principles and user history, Smart Components automatically inserts parts with corresponding mounting features into new designs.
