Our company is not a supplier to Wal-Mart, DOD or others requiring RFID tagging. Given the issues I've been reading about, should we even bother to look into RFID?

ARFID is not going away. It may take years to resolve some of the performance and standardization issues; but make no mistake, when resolution comes, the floodgates will open and those companies that are ready will enjoy significant competitive advantage. Accordingly, it does make sense to take a look, to examine the business case and to assess the value proposition.
