Ask the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Expert: Scheduling Assistance
Asked on Apr 18 2006 3:00:06:000PM | Q | Are users of PLM systems facing a need or pain point with providing remote access to all of the components that comprise a PLM solution? Deborah Fox, Fort Lauderdale, FL |
| A | Yes, there is a need to provide remote access to all aspects of information and processes managed by PLM environments and solutions. As PLM solutions encompass more areas, e.g., Digital Manufacturing, product portfolio management, warranty support, etc., more business and partner personnel need to interact with that information and participate in the associated processes. Product and plant related information continues to be used by more and more people to perform their work more efficiently and effectively. As these "new" users are added to the overall PLM environment they need access regardless of their location. Providing visibility and access is a continual area of need and expansion for any PLM solution. |
